Allen Welty-Green
Allen Welty-Green started playing piano while he was in high school in 1972 after a brief and aborted attempt to become a guitar-god. It wasn't long before the family upright was relocated to his basement bedroom where he would spend hours working on "magnum opuses" and practicing with his band - instead of doing his homework. Soon after, he saved his nickels and bought an Ace Tone combo organ, first in a series of obscure keyboard instruments that provided the soundtrack to his young adult life.

By 1977, he had graduated to a Micromoog synthesizer (which he still uses today) and a 4-track Portastudio, and had already composed a suite of music for a full length magic production.

Fast-forward to the 21st Century. Over the decades, Welty-Green has developed a sizable list of projects and collaborations. His music and multi-media work has been featured in his own projects with the Mind's Eye Group (Nashville) and the Gnosis Performance Group (Atlanta). His music has been featured in dance, theater and film/video projects by many other ensembles and artists. His recordings have been heard across the world and his bands have performed for thousands of people.

Current projects include the improvisational "space-jazz" trio Zentropy, the David Bowie homage Jerome Newton and the Band Who Fell to Earth, and the progressive band Z-Axis. He also contiues to develop various movement / music / media collaborations and performing solo electronic music.
